09.11.2019. Today is State Flag Day!
November 9 - State Flag Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This flag was first approved by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on November 9, 1918. On November 17, 1990, at a meeting of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, chaired by national leader Heydar Aliyev, the triangular flag of the Azerbaijan People's Republic was adopted as the flag of the autonomous republic. On February 5, 1991, the tricolor flag was approved by the Supreme Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan. On November 17, 2009, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree establishing the State Flag Day. According to the order, November 9th was declared the day of the state flag in our country. On November 9, 2009, the National Flag Museum was opened in Baku on State Flag Day.
